Wednesday
We are already half way through Mental Health Awareness week!
Wednesday is about taking care of your health and staying safe. It is normal to miss being around your friends, going out for a meal or seeing a show. However, your top priority at this point should be that of protecting your health. So, as tempting as it may sound to go out like you used to, there is a risk to your life and those of others. If it is not essential to do so, try not to leave the house and spend your time as you used to before all of this. The more we all sacrifice, the sooner we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Have a little stay-cation of your own, do a face mask, make yourself some tea and relax. Your mental health deserves some peace in these turbulent times.
Remember to be kind to yourself and the ones around you. Compassion will help us all get through this.
Here is a recipe for a simple face mask you might try to help you wind down
Combine 1/2 cup hot—not boiling—water and 1/3 cup oatmeal. After the water and oatmeal have settled for two or three minutes, mix in 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, and one small egg white. Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse with warm water.
