Gavin Smith

My interest in photography began when a car caught fire and my immediate response was to grab a camera.
This was the front page of the Guernsey Press, big news on the island!
I have since worked on worldwide stories on national newspapers and magazines in France, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Somalia, the former Yugoslavia, Egypt, Israel, Gaza, West Bank.
I now prefer to decorate the pages of interior magazines and works on film sets, which is a different challenge and altogether calmer experience !

Someone’s daughters

Francesca Fattore

My name is Francesca and I have spent 3 years and 8 month is jail. I have been out now for four months. The last 12 months in lockdown was the hardest part of my sentence. I didn’t realise how much it affected me till I got out. After 2 weeks I started work and struggled with my mental health. I struggled being around people and having freedom as I didn’t see my family and friends for 12 months. I’m finally grounded now and I’m happy. I hope to find work in the future to help people on their release from jail or even those that are facing jail. I did a lot of work whilst I was in Prison helping the women and I really enjoyed making a difference.
