Wedding Sari

The day I’ve looked ahead to for all this time has come at last. The days and months crossed off each night. Last night I couldn’t sleep, as for once my waking reality was better than my dreams. Today, the gate will shut behind me, not on me. And today I marry not a man, but my future.
