The View Magazine 11, If Women Ruled The World

£5.00

What would a world that existed on the Gaia Principle and the tenets of feminism and sisterhood look like?

This is the world that we aspire to live in, these are the women we want to know and whose sisterhood and legacy leave an indelible mark of love and solidarity wherever they reach, like a kiss.

This edition of The View platforms some of the most inspiring and noble women of our times, some well-known, others not so much. Women who have braved personal adversity in their private lives to continue to deliver and to more than show up for their own lives and the lives of countless others; women who have created feminist funding platforms, a woman who has left a $1 billion endowment to benefit mostly women medical students in New York City.

If Women Ruled The World

Out 04.03.2024

James Lovelock and U.S. biologist Lynn Margulis defined the Gaia hypothesis and it was named for the Greek Earth goddess. It postulates that all living things have a regulatory effect on the Earth’s environment that promotes life overall; the Earth is homeostatic in support of life-sustaining conditions.

Here are some of the highlights from this edition:

The View from the Bench with Zainab Salbi, Co-Founder of Daughters for Earth and her mission to provide sustainable funding for women’s organisations. The Feminist Equality Fund is creating their foundation: the most ambitious gender equality fund in history, founded by feminists, run by feminists. Women’s Protests Throughout History covers the history of feminist movements and the struggles they faced to bring about new laws.

Beyond Breaking News – The Unbroken Indrani Mukerjea retells her traumatic and life-changing experience in prison to Utkarsha Kesarkar.

Mushrooms and Depression by Alexia Pena and Allison Parmenter. Can psychedelic mushrooms help combat depression and other mental health issues? Are they the wonder drug that people profess?

It’s MY body! by Tilly Fawcett. In today’s social media-driven world, it’s easier than ever to obsess over unrealistic body expectations seen and heard on social media.

In a Woman’s World: The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. Review of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale: now more relevant than ever?
