The View Magazine Winter Issue 2020 started as a prison magazine. It was started by 3 women at HMP Downview as a revolutionary act of rebellion against the way women were being treated. In the first issue you will find their art and the personal stories of women incarcerated and crying out for mental health support, but not receiving any treatment. In the indepth article Recall Review, women tell about their unfair and possibly unlawful recalls because they were being let down by probation services. An overview of the Mental Health Act and suggested reforms asks why we are incarcerating people who need care not cages.
